This A5 zine focuses on 'Winter, Spirits, Lore and Festivals.'
In this issue we take a look at some of the terrifying tales of the things that lurk outside on the year's colder nights. We look at the raucous mid-winter festivals and folk traditions that have historically taken place between December-March. Plus, there's the opportunity to enjoy a snowy ghost story or two.
Winter has always boasted its own distinct flavour of folklore. As the days grow darker, so too does the lore that accompanies them. In issue 2 we looked at how Samhain was positioned as one last 'hurrah!' after the last harvest of the season, a morale booster before the harsh winter arrives. In this issue, we are deep within the belly of the beast - exploring how legends and celebrations function within the winter season, how is it that they give us the best chance to make it through the most dangerous time of the year, until the spring returns and brings with it warmth, life and new growth.
The zine is 32 pages of illustrated tales of the peculiar, each one written by and featuring original artwork by Sian Ellis.
